Geysers of Yellowstone

  Bear Den Geyser
Feature Type: Geyser
Geyser/Spring Type: Cone geyser

Norris Geyser Basin
Porcelain Basin

A few years of glory, followed by obscurity or outright disappearance; such is the lot of many, probably most, geysers in Porcelain Basin. Bear Den is no exception, except to the extent that its "few years" (30 or so) were indeed glorious, with eruptions probably reaching or exceeding 70 feet in height. Alas, it has had no known eruptions since 1987, and its former vent is now clogged with rubble.
