Chinese Spring rarely erupts. Most eruptions have been induced. The story is that in the early days of the park a concession was using the spring for hot water to wash clothes. The spring erupted as a geyser scattering clothes in all directions.

Chinese Spring was most recently active for a short time in 2012.

When active Chinese Spring erupts to about 20 feet for a duration of about 2 minutes.

What to look for:
Please report activity to the Old Faithful Visitor Center.
